This innovative hanger features a top-flange design that allows for back-to-back installations on 2×6 minimum walls, making it a versatile choice for various framing configurations. With a two-hour fire-resistant rating confirmed by Intertek Design No. SST/WPCF 120-01, it is suitable for use in fire-rated wall assemblies with 2×4 or thicker walls.
Description
Ideal for multifamily, multilevel Type III residential construction, the patent-pending Simpson Strong-Tie® DGT™ fire wall hanger is load tested and fire rated. It’s the first fire wall hanger designed to install with a power nailer, saving time before hanging drywall, which helps keep construction projects on schedule. The DGT model is offered in a wide range of sizes, making it simple to select and use. This top-flange hanger provides space for two layers of 5/8-in. gypsum board (drywall) to be slipped into place after the framing is complete. The DGT has been tested according to ASTM E814 and is fire rated for use on both sides of the wall.
